The Allegorical School of Learning and Playing

The Allegorical School of Learning and Playing is an educational institution for children derived from the Montessori and Scandinavian teaching methods. The foundation of this project was my theoretical research into the 'Garden of Earthly Delights' by Hieronymus Bosch and the 'Draughtsman Contract' film by Peter Greenaway. Both references explored the theme of allegory, which I translated into creating children's architecture with symbolic interpretation. The centrepiece of this design is the Butterfly Auditorium which is a symbolic interpretation of typical fairytale stories.
